  • Best Overall Risk Reduction: Clow Foundry, Brass Cut-off Transfer

Congratulations to all who completed a project this year! Each year, this competition highlights the innovative ways our facilities are improving the workplace for our team members.

For McWane India Sri City's first-place project, the team completely eliminated the ergonomic risk of manually stamping its manufactured cylinders. Employees manually stamped the tare weight on the collar using a hammer and punch. This caused several physical issues for the stampers, including muscle fatigue and strain, joint stress, a high risk of overuse injuries and a negative impact on posture. Over six months, the team successfully worked to streamline materials and the powder coating process to standardize the weight of the components of the cylinder so all specifications could be pre-stamped during manufacturing.
